NYC arsonist hits Bronx building, car with flammable liquid

A firebug flung two bottles containing flammable liquid at a parked car and residential building in the Bronx early Saturday, police sources said.

The incident took place at about 4:20 a.m. in front of 226 Kimberly Place, near 231st Street in Kingsbridge, the sources said.

The unknown male arsonist targeted a parked car on Kimberly Place and the six-story residential building, causing minor damage in each case, the sources said. The flammable bottles each contained a lit rag, sources said.

The FDNY extinguished two minor blazes caused by the pyromaniac, who fled eastbound on Kimberly Place, the sources said.

There were no injuries. FDNY fire marshals are investigating.

An NYPD spokeswoman confirmed an incident, but could not immediately provide details.
