Hoosiers will stop nation’s top scorer

Iowa forward Keegan Murray, the nation’s leader in points per game with 24.7, will be on display on Thursday as the Hawkeyes play host to Indiana.

The Hoosiers will send at Murray a low-post duo in Trayce Jackson-Davis and Race Thompson that is combining for 16.4 rebounds per game. Davis also logs 19.4 points and three blocks per game for a group that is 17th in the country in rebound rate and 11th in points allowed on a per-possession basis.

Iowa ranks just 157th in points allowed per possession on defense but is second in points scored on a per-possession basis.

The Hoosiers have had problems holding on to the ball, ranking 218th in the country in turnovers per possession, but that rate is better on the road than it is at home, and the team has shot 36.4 percent from 3-point range away from Bloomington as compared to 34.5 percent at home.

With Indiana in the top 30 in the country in defensive rebound percentage and blocked shot rate, the Hoosiers will give Iowa a more difficult test than expected at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Thursday.

The play: Indiana, +3.
