Beloved British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood died on Thursday, December 29 at the age of 81; a cause of death was not disclosed.

Over the course of her decades-long career, the punk pioneer and style maverick became a favorite of pop queens and silver-screen starlets alike, who gravitated toward her signature corseted and draped dresses.
