Tobey Maguire Didn’t Want To Reveal Post-Spider-Man 3 Details

Tobey Maguire reportedly didn’t want to share too many details about what happened to his Peter Parker after Spider-Man 3 in No Way Home.

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, we witnessed the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Because it’s been some time since we last saw them on the big screen, we learned that Garfield’s Spider-Man stopped pulling his punches after Gwen Stacy’s death.

Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker only hinted that he was still with Kirsten Dunst’s Mary Jane. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Maguire didn’t want to share too much about what happened to his Spider-Man after the third Sam Raimi film when developing No Way Home with writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

This tidbit instantly leads to speculation that Tobey Maguire might be looking to suit up as Spider-Man once again in a potential sequel to the Sam Raimi films. On the other hand, Maguire may just be looking to keep details a secret so fans can imagine their own story.

Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man No Way Home:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.”
