Meghan King is shutting down claims that her two-month marriage to Cuffe Biden Owens ended because they lived in different states.
“Cuffe lived with me,” the “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum, 37, clarified in an exclusive statement to Page Six. “We didn’t have any distance.”
“We lived together every day since the day we met,” she added. “There was no Cali/MO distance. There was zero long distance whatsoever.”
E! News released a report Tuesday citing a source that claimed King and Owens, 42, called it quits because he resided in Los Angeles and she was in St. Louis with her three young kids.
The alleged insider told the outlet, “It had to do with distance. Meghan cannot uproot the children from where they currently live and he lives and works in California.”
Owens is listed as a top attorney in California on several websites. He is a partner at the firm Felker Toczek Suddleson Abramson LLP.
However, he did appear to spend some quality time with King and her children throughout his short-lived romance with the reality star.
In November, she posted on Instagram that the newly blended family had gone together to SeaWorld in San Diego for her daughter Aspen’s 5th birthday.
Owens has not publicly addressed the split and did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
King has also not revealed the real reason behind their separation when asked for repeated requests for further comment – since she claimed distance was not an issue.
The ex-Bravo star has been candid about how she feels about the breakup, however.
“I am rattled. This situation is profoundly devastating,” she shared on Instagram Monday. “This is obviously not what I imagined when I made my vows — and I’m shocked and saddened by the way things turned out.”
King concluded the post by stating she and her three children, whom she shares with ex Jim Edmonds, are “moving forward” as they “privately process [their] pain and begin to let go of shattered dreams.”
The blogger appears to be following through on her word. She posted on her Instagram Stories Tuesday that she was traveling with Aspen and her 3-year-old twins, Hart and Hayes, to an undisclosed location. She then shared an image of a beach at 6:28 a.m.
Owens was King’s third husband. She was previously married to Edmonds, 51, from 2014 until their separation in 2019 after he was allegedly unfaithful. They finalized their divorce in May. Her first husband was her college sweetheart – a man named Brad McDill – whom she was married to from 2007 to 2011.
Her romance with Owens, however, moved much more quickly than her previous relationships.
“We connected on a dating app, texted for a day or two, then spent five straight hours on the phone the first time we spoke,” King previously told Brides.com of the former couple’s whirlwind romance.
They wed at his childhood home in Kennett Square, Pa. – in front of President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden – on Oct. 11, just weeks after going Instagram-official. The groom’s mother, Valerie Biden Owens, is POTUS’ younger sister and close adviser.
Page Six was first to report the news of King and Owens’ split on Christmas Eve.
A source told us at the time that the “RHOC” alum “has told friends they broke up.”
