James Gunn Reveals When The Next ‘Peacemaker’ Trailer Will Debut

James Gunn has revealed when the next trailer for John Cena’s upcoming HBO Max series, Peacemaker will debut.

The upcoming James Gunn series was first revealed back in 2020 and was originally billed as a prequel revolving around John Cena’s Peacemaker to the then-upcoming film, The Suicide Squad. After the film was released a post-credits scene revealed that the character had survived the events of the movie and that the people behind Task Force X weren’t done with him quite yet. James Gunn himself eventually revealed that the series served as a kind of sequel to the film and the marketing has been hinting at a more involved arc for the character.

The first trailer for the series was revealed during the DC Fandom event and highlighted his battles and interactions with his new team. The second trailer debuted earlier this month and put the spotlight on a potential change in his character and a complicated relationship with his father, played by Robert Patrick. Now James Gunn has revealed when the third trailer will debut in a new post:

Here’s a synopsis for Peacemaker:

PEACEMAKER explores the continuing story of the character that John Cena reprises in the aftermath of executive producer James Gunn’s 2021 film The Suicide Squad – a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it!

Peacemaker was created by James Gunn, who wrote all the episodes and directed five of them. The first season will consist of eight episodes, with Brad Anderson, Jody Hill, and Rosemary Rodriguez also directing episodes. Clint Mansell and Kevin Kiner will compose the score.

Peacemaker stars John Cena, Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, and Chukwudi Iwuji.

Peacemaker premieres on HBO Max on January 13, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming series and be sure to subscribe to The Hamden Journal’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
