Whitney Center Honors Staff for Dedication and Service

Whitney Center, a Senior Living Community, hosted its annual Employee Recognition Ceremony and Luncheon on Friday, May 18, honoring 34 staff members for five, ten, fifteen, twenty, and thirty years of service.
Whitney Center, located at 200 Leeder Hill Drive, opened in 1979. Residents of the community enjoy a carefree and engaging lifestyle with the comfort and peace of mind of having Life Care available on the campus should they ever need it. The employees that were recognized represent 310 years of service to the residents and the community.
“When I arrived here almost 7 1/2 years ago, I recognized right away that there was something special about Whitney Center,” said Michael B. Rambarose, President and CEO. “It didn’t take long for me to figure out that something special was, and is, the people – the residents and the staff.”
During the ceremony, Rambarose explained that it takes a certain type of person to become an employee and remain at Whitney Center for any length of time. He attributed this success to residents and staff having found their natural place together, where they achieve a free and easy synergy that makes for a very special place to live and work.
“It takes someone who believes in giving of themselves to the service of others; someone with a strong value system; someone with great capacity to appreciate that every individual has worth and that we all contribute to one another’s successes in life,” said Rambarose.
As the ceremony came to a close and residents graciously prepared to serve lunch to the honorees as a gesture of their appreciation, Rambarose told the audience, “We’re not honoring these 34 people for having simply lasted here; we’re recognizing each of them for their unique contribution to our collective experience of the exceptional life here at Whitney Center.”
