Sacred Heart Academy Graduate Awarded U.S. Army ROTC Scholarship

Ellen Marie Gensicki, a 2012 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden, has been awarded a four-year U.S. Army ROTC scholarship to study nursing at Salve Regina University this fall.

During the school’s recent Honors Convocation ceremonies, Ms. Gensicki was recognized for the scholarship and was also the recipient of these awards: Student Council recognition, National Financial Capability Challenge, and the Athletic Spirit Award.

Gensicki is the daughter of Dr. Edward and Mrs. Kimberly Gensicki.

Sacred Heart Academy, an independent Catholic college preparatory school founded in 1946 by the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, successfully prepares young women in grades 9-12 for learning, service and achievement in a global society. The Academy currently has an enrollment of 500 students hailing from New Haven, Fairfield, Hartford, New London, and Middlesex counties.
