Hamden Fireworks

The Hamden Fireworks, coordinated by the Hamden Volunteer Firefighters, has become the largest attended event in Hamden each year and we are working on our 19th Fireworks evening. This year, the Fireworks are on June 29, with a rain date of June 30. On June 29, the United States Coast Guard Masters of Swing will be performing. If we have to go on the rain date, a DJ will be the entertainment for the evening.

The past couple of years we have had slight deficits, but this year we are well below our budget. We enjoy coordinating this event for the Town as this, we are told, is one of the best Fireworks displays in the area every year. While we receive support from the Town, and especially the Arts Commission and Mimsie Coleman, it is the businesses and individual contributors that make this event a success. We would like to go back to an idea we tried two years ago asking for a donation of one dollar for each attendee of the fireworks. As we estimate there will be more than 20,000 in attendance in the park, we would clearly make our budget if everyone supported this effort. We will take donations and have t-shirts available, selling for $12.00 each at Stop & Shop (North in Hamden) on June 23 and June 24, as well as at the event.

Please visit our website at www.HamdenFireworks.org for more information and to make a donation using PayPal. Donations can also be mailed to HVFF, PO Box 5104, Hamden, CT 06518.

We thank everyone who has contributed in any way to making this event a success over these 19 years and would like to continue for many more years but we need everyone’s support.
