Fraud/Prescription - Arrest of Anthony Mendygral

On June 24th Officer Mark Gery of the Hamden Police Department responded to Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2175 Dixwell Avenue, on the report of a fraud.
Investigation revealed that a forged prescription was presented to the pharmacy by Anthony Mendygral. The forged prescription was for 180 Oxycodone tablets. Mendygral allegedly forged the signature of a Hamden doctor.
Upon concluding his investigation, Officer Gery presented an arrest warrant application to the court. The warrant was subsequently approved.
On July 6th Mendygral turned himself into police custody.
Hamden Police arrested:
Anthony Mendygral, 55, of 289 Prospect Avenue, New Haven. He was charged with Illegally Obtaining a Prescription Legend Drug. Mendygral, who was released on a Written Promise to Appear, is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on July 18th.
