Americorps NCCC Team Blazes New Trails, Repairs Old Ones at YMCA Camp

AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) is working with the Hamden/New Haven YMCA at Camp Mountain Laurel to provide an overall restoration to the camp.
Together, Child Care & Camp Director, Erin Kelly, and NCCC will work to repair, level, and improve trails while preventing future damage. Additionally, the organizations will create new trails and develop an environmental education program. AmeriCorps NCCC team member, Bobby Russo, quotes, āIām very excited to be able to make a difference in the community while enjoying the beauty of the forest.ā
The AmeriCorps NCCC team, Moose 3, is based in Perry Point, Md., but the members are from all across the country. Led by Jami Hudson, Moose 3 is excited to help this organization and be out in nature.
The mission of AmeriCorps NCCC is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through direct, team-based national and community service.
