Ann Neumann Featured Designer at “Room From the Rug Up” Design Event

Ann Neumann, a Hamden resident, was one of the distinguished interior designers selected to display a vignette in the “Room From the Rug Up” design event at Dover Rug & Home – offering the largest selection of fine floor coverings and window treatments in New England.
The “Room From the Rug Up” Design event, sponsored by Boston HOME magazine, challenged International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) interior design members from the New England Chapter to design a “room” with the rug as a focal point and inspiration. Dover Rug & Home selected five rugs and corresponding rooms for designers to create vignettes. These vignettes were showcased in the brand new Dover Rug & Home showroom at 721 Worcester Street (Route 9) in Natick.
Ms. Neumann’s vignette was “The Study,” with a design concept evoking a feeling of traveling to old world destinations of Morocco or Singapore. The focal point was the hand knotted rug made in India that inspired the impression of faraway exotic travel and it pulled in a warm color palette that lends an inviting feeling.
A passion for design and interior styling, Ms. Neumann has studied at The New England School of Art and Design, as well as The Boston Architectural College in their Residential Interiors program. She is a member of the IFDA and, in addition to her interior design studies, is a graduate from Bryant University.
The IFDA, founded in 1947, is a worldwide professional alliance of leaders representing residential and commercial furnishings and design. Members are executives from companies engaged in the design, production, distribution, promotion, communication, or education in the furnishings and design and/or related industries.
