Commercial Vehicle-Safety Check Results

On March 19th the Hamden Police Department Traffic Division, along with members of the Connecticut State Police Commercial Enforcement Unit and the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services conducted a truck safety check at various locations in Hamden.

A total of 62 commercial motor vehicles were stopped and inspected. Officers issued 15 infractions for a variety of mechanical issues.

The Connecticut Department of Revenue Services cited a local home oil delivery company for using home heating oil, instead of diesel fuel. Heating oil is less expensive, due to fewer federal and state taxes.
