Burglary/Strangulation Arrest - Bobby Coker

On December 3rd at approximately 2:30a.m. Hamden Police responded to a Benton Street address on the report of a domestic complaint.

Investigation revealed that the 22 year-old female resident was in her bed, when she heard noises. Her ex-boyfriend, who was identified as Bobby Coker, allegedly climbed onto the roof of her second floor porch and then forced entry through a bedroom window. Once inside, Coker allegedly struck the victim in her face, grabbed her by the throat and strangled her. He then fled from the residence, prior to the arrival of Hamden Police.

A short time thereafter, Officer Tim Brown observed Coker’s vehicle on Benton Street. He was subsequently arrested.

Hamden Police arrested:

Bobby Coker, 22, of 192 Noble Street, Hamden. He was charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree, Assault in the 3rd Degree and Strangulation in the 3rd Degree. Coker, who was detained at police headquarters on a $25,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on December 5th.
