Firearm Arrests - Lilly and Harrison

On April 5th at approximately 10:45p.m. Hamden Police responded to the report of an armed robbery at Krauzers, 56 Fairview Avenue.
While responding to the robbery, Officer Bryan Kelly observed a motor vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Woodin Street, with no headlights illuminated. The vehicle entered the parking lot of 1160 Dixwell Avenue.
The operator of the vehicle, Alphonso Lilly, and passenger, Melvin Harrison quickly entered a building. Inside of their vehicle, officers located 2 firearms.
Moments later, when Lilly and Harrison exited the building, they were promptly arrested.
Hamden Police arrested:
Alphonso Lilly, 22, of 37 Winnett Street in Hamden. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Weapons in a Motor Vehicle, Hindering Prosecution, Misuse of Plates, No Insurance and Failure to Renew Registration. Lilly was released after posting a $75,000 bond.
Melvin Harrison, 20, of 40 Grandview Avenue in Hamden. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Weapons in a Motor Vehicle and Interfering With a Police Officer. Harrison was released after posting a $75,000 bond.
The armed robbery at Krauzers is under investigation.
