The Cecchetti Ballet Theatre (CBT), a not-for-profit dance troupe, will perform the full-length production of Tchaikovsky’s most-beloved ballet, The Nutcracker, showing December 11 and 12, at the Hamden High School auditorium. This production features a cast of 100 children and adults from Cheshire and surrounding towns.
The role of Clara will be performed by a sophomore at Cheshire High School, Olivia Druckrey. Olivia performed in her first Nutcracker when she was three years old and has been dancing with Cheshire Dance Centre ever since.
CBT is thrilled to announce that Fredrick Davis from NYC will be their guest artist this year. He will be dancing the title role of The Nutcracker, as well as partner Miranda Lennox as the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Grand Pas de Deux! Mr. Davis currently dances with Dance Theatre of Harlem, and has previously guested with Albany Berkshire Ballet, Ballet Tennessee, and North Carolina Dance Theatre. His studies include full scholarship to summer intensives at American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, and New York’s Joffrey Ballet School. We are pleased and excited to have him join our cast!
Traditional and original choreography is staged by Betty Seibert, Artistic Director for the Company. For tickets call Cheshire Dance Centre at 203.699.TUTU (8888). Performances are Saturday, December 11, at 7:00pm, and Sunday, December 12, at 2:00pm, at the Hamden High School auditorium. Reserve your tickets today and join in the magic of the holiday season with friends and family!
